MELLING TITHEBARN
ARTS ASSOCIATION AUGUST 2010
This newsletter gives you important information regarding the pricing
structure for all our future concerts. Costs are rising, yet we wish to
keep our prices as low as possible. We are, therefore, proposing to raise
the cost of the ticket to £6 from the present £5, and our
tea and coffee will go up to £1 from the present 50p. Our seasonal
subscriptions will remain at £5 per person. This membership gives
you a bi-monthly newsletter with a foretaste of the programmes to come,
and also gives you the opportunity to attend the Annual General Meeting,
with cheese and wine refreshments plus some entertainment. We hope you
consider it good value, and will decide to renew your membership with
us. The form is to be found at the foot of this newsletter (not web version).
Incidentally the entrance fee for non-members will be £7 from September.
Friday 17th September:
Johnny Kennedy
Johnny Kennedy’s latest recital has already played to outstanding
reviews at venues in Liverpool and Manchester. “Johnny talks about
his life and career using his comedy talent to keep his audience laughing.
Add to this his outstanding tenor voice and it’s no surprise that
the evening was hugely successful.” LIVERPOOL DAILY POST During
“Access All Arias” Johnny talks about his theatrical life
and his radio career in which he has met so many famous people including
The Beatles, astronauts who have walked on the moon and famous politicians.
Songs include: Nessun Dorma * Catari * O Sole Mio * You Are My Heart’s
Delight * We’ll Gather Lilacs * Jerusalem * Blow The Wind Southerly
* Funiculi Funicula * You’ll Never Walk Alone
Friday 15th October:
The Hoghton Players
This very popular company will present another of their Gilbert and Sullivan
presentations. If you are a fan of G and S don’t miss it, but even
for those who are perhaps not too familiar with all of Gilbert and Sullivan’s
work, then this is an evening to be thoroughly enjoyed. The melodies are
well known and the wit is usually very pertinent!
A reminder that our website is www.mellingtithebarn.org.uk and you will
find there a critique of our latest concerts. In future newsletters we
will try to give you a taste of what you have missed if you are unable
to attend all our performances.
