Calendar of Events to December 2011

Unless otherwise stated, all events commence at 7.30pm, are held in the Tithebarn.
Admission for most events is £7. Non members are most welcome.

Tickets can be reserved in advance from any Committee member, please pay on the door.

SEPTEMBER Friday 16th	Library Theatre Group - "My Brilliant Divorce"
OCTOBER Friday 14th	Aquarelle - an international guitar group who made their debut at the Tithebarn when John Hoople engaged them to appear after graduation. Visit their website for music samples and much more.
NOVEMBER Friday 18th	We welcome Michael Lunts who will present the dramatic story of Frederick Chopin and George Sand. This will be a play with music performed by Michael. Chopin’s music provides the background to a riveting drama about the composer’s tempestuous affair with novelist George Sand. The Last Ballade offers audiences a dramatic insight, through the eyes of Chopin himself, into this extraordinary woman who has been variously described as both his muse and his “vampire”. Many of the pieces that Sand inspired, including the beautiful Berceuse, the famous Minute Waltz, and the F minor Ballade, are played live as part of the action as Michael Lunts portrays both Chopin the man, and Chopin the musician in this unique fusion of drama and live music. Michael, you will remember, was here last February presenting “The Edwardian Cello” with Miss Melanie Dennerly.
DECEMBER Friday 16th	Cantique were at the Tithebarn last Christmas when there was that massive snowfall which prevented many of us even reaching the Tithebarn. Some of us managed to attend, but for those of us who missed this choir, we are welcoming them again this year. Mince pies and mulled wine will be available again, and there will be a later start time of 8p.m. as is usual with our Christmas evening. JANUARY	No Concert
FEBRUARY Friday 17th	In February we will be arranging an event to remember John Hoople and to celebrate his love of good company, all kinds of music, and good food! We will be presenting a Cabaret evening, (lots of popular songs from the shows), and there will be a substantial supper, main course plus dessert, all for the same price of £7. Tickets will be limited to approximately 60, to allow for an arrangement of tables. We do hope that you will be able to join us, but it will be necessary to let us know that you intend to come, by purchasing or reserving your tickets. Our last Cabaret evening was enjoyed by all who attended, so we hope you will join us to remember John, and celebrate all he did for the Tithebarn.
MARCH Friday 16th	Our A.G.M. a usually brief meeting to look back at the past year and more importantly to look forward to the next. The meeting will be followed by a talk "2008 and Beyond - the future of Liverpool after Capital of Culture".
APRIL Friday 20th	We are delighted to welcome Baritone Howard Wong for a recital. Howard has performed at major venues at home and abroad including The Royal Opera House at Covent Garden and The Wigmore Hall. Howard's website doesn't seem to be available at the moment, but if you Google "Howard Wong Barritone" you can find some Youtube videos of his singing.
MAY Friday 18th	We once again welcome the Bella String Quartet from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. More details nearer the date
